Maribou State – Kingdoms in Colour

I lied for a while about liking these guys so naturally my guilty conscience made this one of the first albums I listened to after making this blog. I liked it a lot, the whole listen feels like you should be in a country you’ve never been to, drinking beer that is new to you that only tastes great because you’re on holiday, and will taste as great when you get back home. Standouts are ‘Turnmills’ and ‘Nervous Tics’ featuring a haunting Holly Walker. I pick up shades of Jai Paul throughout which is always welcome to my ear holes. If you are after some easy listening during the lockdown then stick this on and relax, but the jury is out on whether this will taste as good in a few months when the sun is down
